It’s very important to let your skin breathe, or go without products for at least a few hours a day. The skin is the largest organ of the body and needs some time to balance itself with pH, microflora, sebum production and exfoliation. A good time would be when working out. Going product free now would let the sweat come out of the pores
Nighttime products such as retinol, Ferulic acid and AHAs, such as in Visha Skincare should left on all night. The longest period of uninterrupted skincare time. There is a temperature spike when we sleep too, so actives of skincare products get absorbed well then. Spf > 30 should not be skipped either, as this prevents skin damage.
Oily skin should take breaks regularly, as products can clog pores. Very dry skin too needs a break to replenish the oil barrier.
Your skin will tell you when you need a skincare break, it will not tolerate the skincare products you are using. This manifests with red peeling skin and rashes.
