Dermatologist goes over ingredients that should NOT be in your skincare

Here’s a list of ingredients to be cautious about putting on your skin :
1. Fragrance
 - Commonly used for: Enhancing scent.

2. Parabens
 - Commonly used for: Preservatives to extend shelf life.
 - Why to avoid: Linked to hormone disruption; some studies suggest a potential connection to breast cancer.
3. Sulfates (e.g., Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)
 - Commonly used for: Cleansing agents in shampoos and body washes.
 - Why to avoid: Can strip natural oils and irritate the skin, leading to dryness and irritation.
4. Alcohol (especially denatured alcohol)
 - Commonly used for: Preservative or astringent.
 - Why to avoid: Can be very drying and irritating, disrupting the skin barrier.
5. Mineral Oil
 - Commonly used for: Moisturization.
